In the back office, iL10Nz is using the OKAPI framework based on a WEBService.
OKAPI framework is a great Java tool developped by people from the localization arena and provided great support. Many components are included in this framework such as Rainbow, CheckMate etc.. but from my usage, I only use the Core part which are the different classes.
I have built my own interface to provide WebService support to some specific functionalities in order to connect with iL10Nz parsers in PHP. OKAPI has a great list of filters that can handle the industry file format such XLIFF, TMX, etc.. but it can be easily extended to manage other formats.
